ABOUT PAG
City of Pag - the antique village Pagus; in the XV century it was founded as the present-day City, a tourist, administrative and cultural centre of the Island of Pag. Relocated from the Old town, fortified by the city towers and walls, in Gothic - Renaissance style, it was built by the design of the famous Croatian sculptor Juraj Dalmatinac.
The city, with the narrow streets that intersect rectangular, is full of the valuable cultural-historical monuments that have escaped from falling into decay.
Behind the church walls the valuable art works are being kept, which are being passed through the cultural heritage, tradition and customs.
For centuries Pag and the salt plant are living together. The salt plant has honeycombed creped into the city's body.
The special atmosphere is created by lace - makers, which are making the typical and beautiful lace with the white thread.
The famous Pag's cheese and lamb, local white vines ®utica and Gegiæ, honey, prosciutto ham, olives and figs, are well cared by the long-time tradition of shepherds, peasants and fisherman.
Besides the good food, in the city of Pag you can find the good selection of sport facilities: in the Olympic Centre you can find the tennis, soccer and all other courts and fields; the former old shepherd tracks are adopted in 115 km long cycling tracks; the bay of Pag is an ideal place for sailing and windsurfing and the submarine world of the Pag attracts divers.
